All the Beauty and the Bloodshed: Nan Goldin and Laura Poitras

A few years ago, I wrote about Nan Goldin. When I wrote that piece, I knew about Goldin’s struggles with drug addiction, but I didn’t know that she was fighting her own personal struggle with opiods. All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, directed by Laura Poitras, is about Goldin’s journey into activism, and it is also about Goldin’s own life and art.

The film has been nominated for an Academy Award.
